My Writing Philosophy
The guiding principle of my author journey echoes the wisdom of Virginia March: "Write what you know." I eschew outlines, preferring to write organically, allowing inspiration to guide my pen. This approach enables me to delve deeply into situations, exploring the thoughts and emotions of my characters to create narratives that resonate with authenticity and depth.
Themes That Define My Work
Several recurring themes define my writing. I explore the contrast between modern detective stories and classical approaches, often delving into moral relativism and ambiguity. I portray strong, resourceful female characters who overcome adversity, reflecting my commitment to feminism. Additionally, I delve into police procedure, drawing praise from a veteran law enforcement officer who noted, "That's exactly how we did it!"
My stories also embody the concept of karma, where actions have consequences, and I explore the themes of financial minimalism, wealth, and responsibility, echoing my grandfather's belief that "wealth is not consumption, wealth is freedom." Verisimilitude is paramount in my writing; if I am unsure about a detail, I make it my mission to find out, ensuring my work avoids reader disillusionment and maintains a sense of authenticity.
